22/12/2004 (Agence Europe) - The International Pan-European Union elected a new Presiding Council in Strasbourg on 11 December. The old President, Otto de Hapsburg (aged 92) will be replaced by former French MEP Alain Terrenoire. The fourteen members of the Presiding Council include two German CDU MEPs, Ingo Friedrich and Bernd Posselt. The International Pan-European Union was founded in 1923 by Richard Coudenhove-Calergi.
