ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) wines and spirits

British company DIAGEO has taken over Californian wine producer CHALONE WINE GROUP for USD 260 million. It made an offer of USD 14.25 per share, above the offer of its rival DBR - DOMAINES BARONS DE ROTHSCHILD, which was already in negotiations and which proposed EUR 11.75.
