SCHIBSTED (turnover of EUR 1.07 bn in 2003), largest media group in Norway, launched a hostile take-over bid for its Finnish counterpart ALMA MEDIA (turnover EUR 461 million in 2003). The offer of EUR 705 million covers the whole of the group's capital. The Swedish media group BONNIER AB, the main shareholder in ALMA MEDIA, however, is seeking total control.
