Erdogan prepared to consider new UN initiative on reunification of Cyprus

Brussels, 21/12/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Monday evening, Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey was prepared to support any new initiative by the United Nations to resolve the Cyprus question. Erdogan said on Turkish television that the Turkish government would support new negotiations over Cyprus based on a new reunification plan prepared by UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan, adding that such a plan would be useful for relaunching the peace process.
