Mandelson wants protection for poorest countries after elimination of quotas

Brussels, 21/12/2004 (Agence Europe) - In a reply to the press following his meeting with the Canadian minister of trade (see above), Peter Mandelson said that he wanted the poorest countries to be protected from the ferocious competition that would follow quota elimination on textile imports after 1 January 2005.
