21/12/2004 (Agence Europe) - Welcoming the EU's decision to launch accession negotiations with Turkey, Terry Davis, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, said: 'Turkey fully deserves these negotiations. I have been hugely impressed with both the speed and the impact of the reforms which have been implemented in Turkey over the last few years… Turkey can count on the Council of Europe's continued support.'
