Brussels, 15/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - Citizens from the ten new Member States and Romania will not be able to communicate information on cases of fraud that harm the financial interests of the Union, thanks to a free telephone service putting them in contact with the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF). The freephone number is accessible to citizens in 26 European countries (the 25 Member States and Romania), who can leave a message in their mother tongue. All messages will be examined by OLAF investigators. OLAF has opened ten new enquiries based on messages sent to it by phone. Telephone numbers can be consulted on the internet at the following address: http://www.europa.eu.int/comm/anti_fraud/freephone/index_en.html ).
