Brussels, 15/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Slovakian European Commissioner designate, Jan Figel, who will take up the dossier on Education, Training and Multilingualism, will take part in a debate to be held in Brussels on 30 November, organised by the Hanns-Seidel Stiftung and the Alcatel SEL Stiftung on the theme "The human being in the knowledge-based society" (one of the objectives of the Lisbon Strategy for Europe in the future). Among the other participants will be the president of the Hanns Seidel Foundation, Hans Zehetmair, Dieter Klumpp of the Alcatel Foundation, the vice-president of the European Parliament, Ingo Friedrich (CSU), and Bishop Wolfgang Huber, president of the Council of the Evangelical Church in Germany.
