Strasbourg, 15/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - On 16 - 17 November, the European HEIB Committee is going to draw a balance sheet of its 50 year history. It will also be launching its publication "Health, Ethics and Human Rights - the Council Meets the Challenge", of which a copy will symbolically be submitted to Maud de Boer-Buquicchio, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe. Marc Danzon, Regional Director in Europe of the WHO and Fernand Sauer, Director of Public Health at the European Commission, will highlight the important role of the Council of Europe in the definition of health policy. The committee will hold a discussion on its future orientations and is expected to adopt a draft recommendation on the media and health, as well as the draft on the eleventh edition of the guide on blood components.
