EU strongly condemns violence in Ivory Coast and describes attack on French peace-keeping troops as unacceptable - Appeal for peace agreements to be respected - Troika meets ECOWAS

Brussels, 08/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Union has strongly condemned the wave of violence which hit the Ivory Coast last weekend following attacks by government troops on the rebel forces in the North of the country. It particularly condemned Saturday's attack on French peace-keeping troops in Bouaké, which left ten dead and several dozen injured.
