Peloponnesia is a peninsula, and has no right to derogations from Community rules on coastal shipping

Luxembourg, 02/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - In a recent ruling, the second chamber of the European Court of Justice refused the claim by the Greek government that Peloponnesia is an island. "Peloponnesia is incontestably a peninsula from a geographical point of view. It is only separated from Greece by an artificial channel which is only a few dozen metres wide".
