Commission proposes lifting FSC sanctions from 1 January 2005, but calls upon WTO to rule on validity of various contested provisions of new American law

Brussels, 25/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - After the signature of the new American law on Foreign Sales Corporations (FSC) by President Bush last Friday evening, the European Commission has proposed to the Member States that trade sanctions the EU has been imposing since March this year on a range of American imports be removed.
