Differences of opinion on degree of ambition for European asylum and immigration policy

Luxembourg, 25/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Twenty Five remain divided on the ambition of the new pluri-annual programme for the European asylum and legal cooperation policies. At the Council of Luxembourg on Monday, the Justice and Home Affairs Ministers failed to find an agreement on the timetable to put the European asylum policy into place, or on the date to move towards qualified majority for immigration and borders.
