EU Presidency makes statement after trial of former President Pasteur Bizimungu

Brussels, 12/07/2004 (Agence Europe) - Reacting to the verdict of the trial of former Rwandan President and the former Transport Minister, the Dutch Presidency made the following statement on 9 July on behalf of the EU:

"The EU notes with concern the verdict handed down by the Court of First Instance on 7 June in the trial of former President Pasteur Bizimungu, former Minister of Transport Charles Ntakirutinka and six co-defendants. The trial appears to have fallen short of international...
