France ruled against for late transposition of "Stable derivatives of human blood or human plasma" directive - Three-judge chamber ruling in absence of magistrate issue

Luxembourg, 08/07/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Fifth Chamber of the Court of Justice, chaired by Judge Gulmann, has ruled against France for failing to adopt or publish within the prescribed deadline- 13 December 2001- the directive 2000/70/EC modifying a 1993 directive on medical devices incorporating stable derivatives of human blood or human plasma.

In its defence, France indicated that in order to transpose the directive, a draft decree had to be drawn up, but that this had been delayed...
