Water policy: Commission takes legal action against 13 Member States for non-compliance with EU laws on water

Brussels, 08/07/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission is taking legal action against 13 Member States for non-compliance with Community legislation on water and for not having transposed the legislation into their national statutes. Nine Member States - Belgium, Finland, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, the United Kingdom and Sweden - will receive reasoned opinions (second stage in the proceedings in Article 226 of the Treaty preceding actions at the Court of...
