Commission approves Endesa control of SNET

Brussels, 22/04/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, the European Commission cleared the acquisition by the Spanish electricity company Endesa of the French company SNET (Société Nationale d'Electricité et de Thermique) by increasing its 30% stake to 65%. SNET had previously been controlled jointly by Endesa and Charbonnages de France (CDF). Electricité de France (EDF) was and remains a minority shareholder.
