Commission is to give its opinion on Tuesday on Croatia's request to be a candidate for EU membership

Brussels, 14/04/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission is to give its opinion next Tuesday on Croatia's application for EU membership, it was confirmed on Wednesday by Emma Udwin, Spokesperson for Chris Patten. Although Ms Udwin did not comment on the final verdict, it is more than likely that the Commission will give a favourable opinion on Croatia's request.
