Brussels, 20/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - The launch of unprecedented EU sanctions against the United States in the Foreign Sales Corporations (FSC) scandal on 1 March 2004 will not be the start of a transatlantic trade war, said Commissioner Pascal Lamy ahead of a meeting with the United States Trade Representative Robert Zoellick in Paris on Friday. Lamy said it was a race against time, aware that it would not be easy for the US Congress to adopt corrective legislation before 1 March.
