Support for setting up European control centre for infectious diseases

Brussels, 28/01/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday the environment and public health committee of the EP adopted the report of British Conservative John Bowis, approving the European Commission proposal on the setting up of a European Centre for the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases. MEPs introduced very few amendments to the proposal, which is expected to gradually increase from a staff of 35 to 70. Amendments are insisting on the co-operation with other Community organisations...
