Mr Solana may visit Iran soon - Appeal for calm in Georgia - Reinforcement of relations with Arab world

Brussels, 08/12/2003 (Agence Europe) - The EU Foreign Ministers debated the situation in Georgia and relations with Iran over lunch.

Iran: The European Union's approach is "vigilant" and relations are "progressive", said French Minister Dominique de Villepin, stressing that the European Union "hopes to develop its relations with Iran" whilst insisting on human rights, non-proliferation, the fight against terrorism and the Middle East.
