Brussels, 08/12/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Council of 12 and 13 December should, for the first time, give a precise deadline, January 2007, for the accession of Bulgaria and Romania to the European Union. During the General Affairs Council of 8 December, only the European Commission and Belgium showed any misgivings with the formula proposed by the Presidency.
