Europeans react positively to withdrawal of US surcharges but call for vigilance

Brussels, 08/12/2003 (Agence Europe) - Withdrawal of the American surcharges on steel imports is welcomed as "good news" by MEP Nick Clegg (Liberal Democrat, Great Britain), as well as by the Eurofer organisation (see EUROPE of 6 December, p.9, in particular). The latter is nonetheless concerned that damage has been done to its members and their customers on the other side of the Atlantic, and also fears there could be a return to restrictions or distortion in the context of the license...
