Council to look at France and Germany's deficits, VAT and the Growth Initiative

Brussels, 24/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - The excess budget proceedings launched against France and Germany will take up most of Tuesday's Ecofin Council, chaired by Giulio Termonti. Ministers will also consider other thorny topics and confirm their position (already highly controversial and challenged by the European Parliament) on budget procedures in the framework of the Intergovernmental Conference.
