Parliament urges EU to help Indonesia resume talks with Movement for liberation of Achen (GAM)

Strasbourg, 24/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - Last Thursday in Strasbourg, the EP adopted a resolution on the situation in the Indonesian province of Aceh in which it states its deep concern about the recent decision taken by the Indonesian government to renew martial law for a further six-month period and to pursue military operations in that province. The Parliament urges the Indonesian government to put an end to the offensive and to resume talks with GAM (Movement for the Liberation of Aceh)...
