Parliament calls for measures to protect apiculture from insecticides and forest fires

Brussels, 10/10/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday in Brussels, the European Parliament adopted a resolution whereby it calls for "preventive measures" to ensure bees are protected against the effect of neurotoxic slash products (two insecticides manufactured by Bayer are concerned). The EP also considers this sector should be included in the strategy for preventing forest fires. The resolution was adopted after the debate on 25 September, as requested by Astrid Lulling (EPP-ED, Luxembourg)...
