Green light to 56 million EUR for Spain and Italy under EU solidarity funds

Brussels, 10/10/2003 (Agence Europe) - In Brussels on Thursday, the European Parliament authorised the mobilisation of solidarity funds for Italy (47.6 million EUR after the earthquakes in Molise and Apulia and the eruption of Etna in 2002) and Spain (8.6 million EUR following the shipwreck of the Prestige in the same year), thanks to the adoption in a single reading of the report by Göran Färm (PES, Sweden) on amending budget 5/2003 providing for this expenditure.
