Wallonia and certain Länder of eastern Germany meet to put the case for Objective 1b for their regions

Brussels, 24/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Minister-President of the region of Wallonia, Jean-Claude Van Cauwenberghe is worried. Like other European regions, the Hainaut, which has hitherto received Structural Funds under Objective 1 (phasing out since 2000) could receive nothing more after enlargement. Just a few weeks from the informal council on regional policy, Jean-Claude Van Cauwenberghe - who will be representing Belgium at the meeting - has therefore taken up the pilgrim's staff and...
