Strasbourg, 24/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - It was with an overwhelming majority of 335 votes to 106 and 53 abstentions that the European Parliament approved, without making any substantial changes, the report by Spanish Christian Democrat José Maria Gil-Robles and Greek Socialist Dimitris Tsatsos, which invites the Intergovernmental Conference to approve the draft constitutional treaty without modifying its fundamental balance (see EUROPE of 11 September, p.7).
