Illegal immigration into the EU provides organised crime with EUR 2.5 billion, claims Pisanu

Rome, 12/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - Giuseppe Pisanu the Italian Minister of the Interior declared in a statement to the press on Friday that, "illegal immigration in Europe is a business that bring in more than EUR 2.5 billion to international traffickers". He also sated that, "there is a confirmed risk that large international organisations are funding their operations in part through the trafficking of human beings".
