24/07/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday, the Council adopted a framework decision on corruption in the private sector. Passive or active corruption will now carry a penalty in all Member States of imprisonment for at least 1 to 3 years, with a possible ban on similar employment. The legislation was agreed upon in principle in December 2002 (see EUROPE of 21 December 2002).
