24/07/2003 (Agence Europe) - On 22 July the Under-Secretary of State Alfredo Mantica, and the United Nations Secretary General's Special Representative for Somalia Winton Tubman, had an in-depth exchange of opinions on the national reconciliation process for Somalia going on in Mbagathi (Kenya). Mr Mantica declared that the European Union, during the Italian Presidency, will continue to give its full backing to the national reconciliation conference of IGAD (organisation for regional cooperation for the Horn of Africa) and will be ready to support a global and balanced peace pact as well as the institutions that grow out of it.
