Brussels, 24/07/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission intends to exempt the new system from competition rules on broadcasting German first and second division championship matches presented by the German football league (Ligaverband). With theses new rules , it will no longer be possible to sell all transmission rights in a single package to a single radio broadcaster. Rights will therefore be shared over several packages and sold separately. This system will all live coverage of all matches on the internet and mobile phones. First and second division clubs will also be about to trade some of these broadcasting rights themselves. The Commission is awaiting observations from third parties before giving its final decision.
