Commission approves proposed aid to VW Mechatronic in Saxony

Brussels, 24/07/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday the European Commission announced that it had no objections to Germany granting aid amounting to € 84 million to the company VW Mechatronic GmbH & Co KG (joint venture of Siemens VDO Automotive and Volkswagen). This aid is destined to finance the construction of a new plant for the production of injection systems for diesel engines. The project will be located in the East German region of Saxony.
