24/07/2003 (Agence Europe) - CSU MEP Ingo Friedrich has welcomed the recent proposal by Commissioner Michaele Schreyer on "a European corrective mechanism" to re-balance Member States' contributions (see EUROPE of 18 July, p.10). In a press release, he said that Ms Schreyer should be taken at her word to reduce Germany's net contribution.
