Italian radicals' appeal to Philippe Busquin for EU funding for research on stem cells

Brussels, 07/07/2003 (Agence Europe) - Ahead of the discussion in the European Commission on Wednesday on the funding of research on stem cells (see above), Italian Lista Bonino MEP Marco Cappato, and Rita Berardini, secretary of Italy' Associazione Luca Coscioni, have written to the European Commissioner for Research, Philippe Busquin, assuring him of their support in his work "to authorise European funding for research on the stem cells of surplus embryos".
