07/07/2003 (Agence Europe) - Adopting the report by British Conservative Phillip Bradbourn, the European Parliament approved the Council's common position on the awarding of EU aid to improve the environmental performance of the freight transport system (the Marco Polo programme). Marco Polo will now receive EUR 75 million over for years, rather than EUR 115 million over five years as initially requested by the European Parliament.
