Agreement between five Member States for developing maritime corridors

Naples, 07/07/2003 (Agence Europe) - Italy, France, Spain, Portugal and Greece signed, on Saturday, on the fringe of the informal meeting on transport, a joint declaration aimed at developing maritime corridors for decongesting road and rail traffic, mainly in the Alps and Pyrenees. The declaration - "an initiative for regional cooperation aimed at developing cabotage in southern Europe" - stresses the role that maritime cabotage can play to this end.
