Cost of cross-border payments in Euros to be aligned with national transfers as of 1 July

Brussels, 26/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - As of 1 July 2003, cross-border payments in Euros within the EU will be treated as national transfers. This will mean a considerable saving for the customer. The entry into force of this measure is a due to the application of the 2001 Community regulation on cross-border payments. This text imposes equality of tariffs between a strictly national payment and a cross-border payment. In July 2002, this provision entered into application for card payments...
