EU calls on Belarus to put immediate halt to harassment of media and independent journalists

Brussels, 26/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - On behalf of the EU, the Presidency has made the following declaration on the media situation in Belarus, "The EU follows with great concern the worsening media situation in Belarus and expresses its preoccupation at the suspension of the independent newspaper "Belaruskaya Delovaya Gazeta" and the publication "BDG-for internal use only" on 28 May 2003.
