France is found guilty of imperfect policy for reducing pollution by lead, zinc, copper and nickel in the aquatic environment

Luxembourg, 18/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Sixth Chamber of the Court of Justice presided by French Judge Jean-Pierre Puissochet found France guilty of not having taken the necessary measures to reduce the pollution of water by 99 metalloids, metals and their compounds under Directive 76/464/EEC (zinc, copper, nickel, chrome, lead, arsenic, etc.). The quality targets set out in the French regulation can possibly contribute in a general manner to the protection of the aquatic environment...
