18/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - Canada still intends to take part, together with the USA and Argentina at the consultation meetings on the European moratorium on genetically modified organism (GMOs) on Thursday in Geneva, indicated an official Canadian source, thus dismissing information contrary to this approach, coming from the European Commission (EUROPE yesterday p 11). "the information is not correct. We will be joining the Americans and the Argentineans this week", underlined the same source on the eve of this meeting". ("It is true that we will have separate consultations next week": Editor's note). What is behind the Canadian decision? "We are seeking to put forward our own series of questions and to discuss constructively the application of scientific regulation based in the EU".
