Commission proposes regulation to simplify granting of state aid for research and development for SMEs

Brussels, 07/05/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday the European Commission today proposed a Regulation on research and development (R&D) aid in favour of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), aimed at simplifying and facilitating Member States' research and development initiatives. The proposal aims to grant Member States aid for research and development for SMEs, without having to notify the Commission beforehand, therefore getting rid of superfluous administrative procedures.
