WTO allows EU to apply Foreign Sales Corporation counter measures

Brussels/Geneva, 07/05/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, as expected, the World Trade Organisation (WTO) formal and final authorisation to apply counter measures against the US export aid Foreign Sales Corporation scheme, to be applied to a list of products from the United States. The counter measures take the form of prohibitive customs duty (up to 100%) of up to $4 billion a year in total. For the first time in the FSC affair, a deadline has been set for Washington.
