EU 15 divided over fate of controvertial aldicarb pesticide

Brussels, 24/02/2003 (Agence Europe) - On 28 February the Greek Presidency will preset to the Council's competent expert group ('agricultural issues-pesticides' group), then, the following week, to the Committee of permanent representatives for the EU member states (Coreper), a draft compromise on a marketing ban against plant protection products containing aldicarb, a pesticide manufactured by the German pharmaceutical group BAYER.
