24/02/2003 (Agence Europe) - Last week, the EP's Budgetary Control Committee adopted the report by the President of the Committee, Diemut Theato (EPP, Germany) on penal protection of the EU's financial interests. In a press release, Diemut Theato said that fraud damaging to the Community's financial interests was recognised and condemned by all EU countries and caused damage of around EUR 1 billion every year.
