18/12/2002 (Agence Europe) - Over thirty countries are gathering on Thursday and Friday at the OECD headquarters in Paris t continue high-level negotiations on the problems facing the steel sector world-wide. The main aim of the session - which has been going on intermittently for 15 months - is to "reduce over-capacity, find ways of paying the social and environmental costs of plant closures and reach agreement limiting governmental subsidies."
