US pharmaceutical group, PFIZER, has sold its ADAMS chewing-gum manufacturing subsidiary to the British foods group, CADBURY SCHWEPPES, for USD 4.28 billion (Adams turnover in 2001 was USD 1.9 billion. This deal will see CADBURY SCHWEPPES become the number two player on the world market, with a market share increase from 8 - 26%, behind WRIGLEY (31%).
