ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) pharmaceuticals

Hong Kong conglomerate HUTCHISON WHAMPOA has disclosed that it had an option to buy a 40% stake in the German ROSSMANN pharmaceutical chain (650 shops in Germany) . It did not disclose whether it would be exercising this option, however. The company acquired this option through its purchase of the Dutch group KRUIDVAT last month (beauty and health products) for EUR 1.3 bn.
