Strasbourg, 05/09/2002 (Agence Europe) - During a press conference on the fringe of the plenary session in Strasbourg, the chairman of the industry committee, Carlos Westendorp (Spanish Socialist), felt that, if the Council were to confirm the compromise that delays until 2004 the Commission's possibility to fund embryonic stem cell research for the adoption of rules on ethical issues, it will no longer be possible to trust it in future codecision procedures.
